FBCCI urges business-friendly budget and stable commodity prices during Ramadan

Mahbubul Alam, the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), urged the Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali to present a business-friendly budget in the upcoming financial year.

President Mahbubul Alam made this call during a courtesy call on Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Monday, reads a press release.

He urged the Finance Minister to take necessary steps to ensure a seamless flow of goods and services. He also called for necessary measures to be made for small and medium entrepreneurs to open Letters of Credit (LCs) and purchase dollars at the Bangladesh Bank’s announced rate.

Highlighting the need for enhanced cooperation between the private sector and the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Mahbubul Alam expressed FBCCI’s commitment to working closely with various government departments and institutions, including the NBR.

Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali attentively listened to the points raised by the FBCCI President.

The minister called for active participation from the private sector in the Ministry of Finance’s initiatives, including the formulation and implementation of the national budget.

The Finance Minister assured that the FBCCI’s proposals would be considered seriously during the upcoming national budget. FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir was present at the program.
