Although the overall monetary turnover climbed little from the previous session, trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the nation’s primary stock exchange, completed the third trading day of the week with a downward trend in the index.

According to the data, on Tuesday (October 7), the DSE’s main index, DSEX, fell by 46.63 points, bringing it down to 5,377 points.
Other indices also declined:
- The Shariah index (DSES) decreased by 35 points, reaching 1,161 points, and
- The DS-30 index fell by 84 points, settling at 2,064 points.
On this day, shares and units worth Tk 7.87 billion (Tk 787.48 crore) were traded on the DSE — up slightly from the previous session’s Tk 7.37 billion (Tk 736.81 crore).
A total of 401 companies’ shares and units were traded during the session. Among them:
- Prices increased for 85 companies,
- Declined for 282 companies, and
- Remained unchanged for 34 companies.
