DSE Ends Higher on Wednesday; Turnover Sees Sharp Rise

On the fourth working day of the week, trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, ended with a rise in the key price indices. The total turnover in monetary terms also increased significantly.

According to DSE sources, 289 companies recorded a gain in their share prices during the day’s trading.

The benchmark index DSEX gained 45.18 points, closing at 5,392 points.

Other key indices also saw gains:

  • The DSES (Shariah Index) rose by 43 points to close at 1,165 points.
  • The DS30 Index, which tracks blue-chip stocks, increased by 99 points, ending at 2,091 points.

The total turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 576 crore, significantly higher than the Tk 467.59 crore recorded on the previous trading day.

A total of 397 companies’ shares and units were traded on Wednesday. Among them:

  • 289 companies saw an increase in share prices,
  • 60 companies experienced a decline, and
  • 48 companies remained unchanged.
