Demra community takes to streets in demand for Titas Gas line expansion

BM Report:

In a display of unity, the residents of Ward No. 68 in Demra organized a human chain event with the support of the Staff Quarters Demra Press Club on Saturday. The primary goal was to advocate for the expansion of the Titas gas line to alleviate the gas shortage in the area.

Speakers at the event voiced their frustration with the ongoing struggle of visiting various Titas gas offices for the past two years. They emphasized that due to the inadequate gas supply in their homes, tenants are gradually vacating the premises.

Moreover, they highlighted that despite paying a monthly gas bill of Tk 1080 for each gas stove, residents are not receiving a sufficient amount of gas for cooking and meeting their daily needs.

Concluding the human chain, participants urged the higher authorities of Titas Gas to promptly address the gas supply issue.

Prominent figures present at the event included Jasim Uddin Majumdar, former member of Sarulia Union, Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, President of Demra Press Club, Salim Nizami, General Secretary of Demra Press Club, and many others.
