Commerce Bank’s 25th AGM held in Dhaka

The 25th Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited was held on Saturday through the digital platform. Professor Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Directors of BCBL, presided over the meeting.

Among others, members of the Board of Directors Arshed, Shafiqul Islam, Sanchia Binte Ali, Prof. Abu Taher, Humayun Bokhteyar, and Managing Director and CEO of BCBL Tajul Islam were present in the meeting. Ayub Islam and Kamrul Hoque Maruf were present at the meeting on a virtual platform. Besides, Abul Kader, Jamil Hossain, CMA Deputy Managing Director, and Sayed Mohammed Estencher Billah, Company Secretary of BCBL, along with various divisional heads, were also present in the meeting.

The auditors of the bank for the year ended on December 31, 2022. The acceptance and approval of the reports of the directors and auditors, along with the status sheet on that date and the appointment of auditors and remuneration for the year 2023, were approved at the Annual General Meeting. According to the memorandum and articles of association of the bank and provisions of the Companies Act, director Professor Arshed and Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher retired from the ‘C’ category and were re-elected.

A significant number of shareholders attended the meeting. The meeting discussed various business topics and action plans for next year. The managing director rendered special thanks and best wishes to the shareholders and others.
