BM Report:
Daffodil International University (DIU) kicked off its second annual job fair on Friday. The two-day event, which is expected to draw over 4,000 job seekers, features more than 200 companies from a variety of industries, including technology, finance, and manufacturing.
The fair, which is being held at the university’s Smart City campus in Savar, Dhaka, is open to students and recent graduates from all universities. The participating companies are offering a wide range of positions, including internships, full-time jobs, and contract work.
“This job fair is a great opportunity for our students to connect with potential employers and learn about the latest job trends,” said DIU Vice Chancellor Professor Lutfur Rahman. “We are committed to helping our students succeed in their careers, and this event is a key part of that effort.”
The fair was inaugurated by Saif Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He urged students to focus on developing soft skills, such as communication and teamwork, in addition to technical skills.
“In today’s globalized world, soft skills are just as important as technical skills,” said Ahmed. “Students need to develop these skills in order to be successful in the job market.”
The fair also features a number of other events, including a panel discussion on the state of the Bangladesh economy, a career counseling session, and a resume-writing workshop.
