The 38 th Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh General Insurance Co. Ltd. (BGIC) was
held on 03 August 2023 on Virtual platform. Mr. Towhid Samad, Chairman of BGIC,
presided over the meeting which was attended by a large number of Shareholders
including Managing Director & CEO of the Company Mr. Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury.
A special `Dua’ was offered for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the BGIC’s
Founder Late M. A. Samad and other members who departed earlier.
BGIC, the first General Insurance Company in the private sector of Bangladesh approved
12% Cash Dividend on enhanced paid up capital of approximately Tk. 54.03 crore for the
year 2022.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-Chairman Mr. Salim Bhuiyan, Independent
Director Mr. Mustafa Zaman Abbasi, Public Director Mr. Md. Shakil Rizvi, Nominated
Director Mr. Arunangshu Dutta, Nominated Director Mr. M Manjur Mahmud and
Financial Consultant Mr. A. Z. Chowdhury. Mr. Saifuddin Ahmed, Assistant Managing
Director & Company Secretary conducted the meeting smoothly.
