The 4-day-long training program on “Trade Diplomacy and International Trade Negotiation” organized by the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) was inaugurated on Sunday, at the BFTI conference room.
This training will continue until August 30, 2023. It will train public and private sector officials on trade negotiations and their preparation. 26 officials from various ministries and their offices, business associations and chambers, importers, and exporters have participated in this training.
“There is no alternative to increasing the skills of the parties concerned with trade diplomacy and negotiation in order to sign effective and fruitful trade agreements with potential countries”, said Md. Saiful Islam, President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) and Member of the Board of Directors of BFTI. He was addressing as the chief guest of the opening ceremony.
The event was presided over by the Chief Executive Officer of BFTI and former Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Dr. Md. Zafar Uddin. He said in his speech, “BFTI is working to increase the knowledge and skills related to trade in the public and private sectors by providing training.”
The Director of BFTI, Mr. Md. Obaidul Azam, delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
