Bangladesh-Japan Steel JV sees market in Tripura and NE

A Japan Bangladesh joint venture company producing steel fabrication products sees their market opportunity in Tripura and the Northeast Indian states.

“Scopes are here so we are here to access the market in Tripura as well as in other northeastern states,” said Sohed Ahmed, Managing Director of the Nippon- McDonald Steel Industries Limited (NMSIL)

Sohed’s company McDonald Steel Building Products Limited [MSBPL] is a JV with Nippon Steel & Sumikin Bussan Corporation (NSSB), which is the core trading company of Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation Group, a  global giant in steel sector.

At a Press Conference in Agartala, Sohed informed reporters that there new JV, (NMSIL) has been formed to operate a processing centre of FIat Products and manufacturing of processed ‘Flat Products’ and to carry out the business of export, import and supply of processed products, raw materials and related merchandise in the region and beyond.

Vice president IBCCI Fri pur  Chapter Abhijit Deb and Andrew from Japan also present at the press conference.
