Attention should be given to regularly updating university websites

BM Report:

Member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and convener of the Innovation Committee Sazzad Hossain called for the leadership of teachers and researchers of the country’s higher education institutions in building a smart Bangladesh.

He advised university teachers to play a role in the country’s economic progress through research, innovation and technology discovery.

He said this in the keynote speech of the workshop held on Tuesday to ensure regular updating of information disclosure in public universities. The day-long workshop was held at the UGC auditorium.

Professor Sajjad Hossain said that special attention should be given to regularly updating the websites of all universities to showcase the country’s higher education institutions to the world.

He said that it is necessary to include the profiles of teachers, research and innovation information on the university website. He also said that a research database should be formed to present the real picture of research.

Professor Sajjad Hossain further said that attention should be paid to ensure that the safe environment of education is not destroyed. In this regard, teachers, students and guardians of the university should be aware. The university authorities should ensure an appropriate environment for the students and researchers to concentrate on their respective work.

UGC Secretary Ferdaus Zaman gave a speech at the program chaired by UGC’s Research Support and Publications Department Director Fakhrul Islam
