2 held with illegal nets, fish production disrupted

M A Mannan, Bhola: Two fishermen have been held with illegal nets, which really hinder of fish production. They were arrested from Meghna River, a bordering area of Barisal and Ramdashpur in Bhola.

Monir Hossain Miah, OC Bhola Sadar Model Police Station said on Thursday, at about 5:50 pm on Tuesday while fishing with illegal current nets, a team led by Md. Aktar Hossain, in-charge of Ilisha Naval Police Station managed to arrest them. The arrestees are Jahangir Hossain Rarhi son of Abdul Latib and Based Dhali son of late Idris Ali Dhali. They are known to be residents of Mehediganj in Rajapur upazila under Barisal district. Both the accused have been referred to the court in a case under the amendment of the Fisheries Protection and Conservation Act, 2013. Police sources confirmed.
