BRAC Bank joins Tk 500 billion retail deposit club

BRAC Bank has reached a major milestone in Bangladesh’s banking sector, with its retail deposits surpassing Tk 500 billion in the year marking its 25th anniversary.

According to the bank, retail deposits stood at Tk 503.24 billion as of June 30, 2026, making it one of the country’s leading retail banks.

The bank said its retail deposit base has nearly tripled over the past four years, rising from Tk 175.14 billion in June 2022 to Tk 503.24 billion by the end of June 2026. Retail deposits also recorded a 38% year-on-year increase over the past 12 months.

BRAC Bank attributed the strong growth to its nationwide branch and sub-branch network, expanding retail sales operations, and agent banking services, which have helped broaden its customer reach across the country.

Mahiyul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking at BRAC Bank, described the achievement as a significant milestone in the bank’s 25th anniversary year.

“Crossing the Tk 500 billion mark in retail deposits is a matter of great pride for us. This achievement reflects our continued investment in digital banking and our commitment to making banking services more accessible to people across Bangladesh. It has been made possible by the trust of our customers and the dedication of our colleagues nationwide,” he said.

The bank said its strong distribution network, digital banking platforms, innovative products, and customer-focused approach have established BRAC Bank as one of Bangladesh’s leading retail banks.

As it celebrates its 25th anniversary, the bank reaffirmed its commitment to expanding financial inclusion, strengthening long-term customer relationships, and maintaining sustainable growth.
