B Mirror Report:The 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) was held today at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, where industry leaders reaffirmed their commitment to collective efforts in addressing ongoing challenges in the country’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector.

The meeting was presided over by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and opened with a welcome speech by First Vice President Selim Rahman, according to a press release.

During the AGM, members approved the audited financial statements for the 2024–25 fiscal year. The proposed budget for 2025–26 was also presented and approved, along with the appointment of auditors for the period.

In his keynote address, the BGMEA president outlined the current situation of the RMG industry, highlighting initiatives taken by the present board over the past year and future plans aimed at enhancing the sector’s competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman presented the financial reports and budget proposal before the members.

Participants emphasized the importance of unity and coordinated action to effectively address both existing and emerging challenges facing the garment industry.

The AGM was attended by vice presidents, directors, former leaders of the association, Zainul Abdin Farroque, MP, chairmen and members of various standing committees, and general members of the organization.

The event concluded with a celebration marking the successful completion of the current board’s first year in office.
