B Mirror Report: GM Holdings Limited (GMHL), a concern of Deshbandhu Group, has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan involving major investments in real estate, hospitality, tourism and industrial development across Bangladesh.
In a press release, the company said the projects will be developed on strategically located land owned by GMHL and are aimed at supporting urban transformation, boosting tourism, attracting investment and contributing to long-term economic growth.
As part of the initiative, GMHL has signed agreements with global real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) for five key projects, bringing international expertise and global best practices to their planning and development.
The proposed developments include “Dakhina,” a condominium project in Dhaka’s Dakshinkhan area; a boutique hotel at the site of Rapa Plaza on Old Road 27 in Dhanmondi; a proposed five-star resort on 14 acres of land in Uttarkhan, Dhaka; a five-star hotel and shopping mall project in Bogura; and an amusement park in Rangpur.
The company is also moving forward with plans to establish an industrial park in Sirajganj, a project expected to promote industrial growth and generate employment opportunities.
According to GMHL, the proposed Bogura hospitality project has already received a Letter of Intent from Hilton for the planned hotel development.
Meanwhile, the residential project “Dakhina” in Dakshinkhan will be implemented under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) arrangement with Sinohydro Corporation Limited. The EPC agreement has already been signed.
GMHL said it intends to leverage strategic partnerships with international organisations to deliver projects that contribute to Bangladesh’s economic development and strengthen its real estate and tourism sectors.
