Southeast Bank observed world environment Day 2026

Southeast Bank PLC. observed World Environment Day 2026 themed “Green Banking for a Resilient Bangladesh” through a series of nationwide programs aimed at promoting environmental awareness and conservation.

The observance commenced with the inauguration of the program at the Bank’s Corporate Branch in Dilkusha, Dhaka recently. Speaking on the occasion, Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Managing Director & CEO, emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the Bank’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development through responsible banking practices.

Md. Mahbub Alam, Additional Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer, delivered the welcome address, while Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, delivered the concluding remarks. Indoor plants were distributed among clients to encourage greener lifestyles. The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior management, clients, and well-wishers.

As part of the celebration, an art competition themed “Our Environment Our Future” was organized at Southeast Bank Green School, Dhaka, to raise environmental awareness among students.

On June 06, 2026, the Bank conducted a nationwide tree sapling distribution program through its divisional branches, distributing saplings of environmentally beneficial species, including Palm (Tal), Neem, medicinal, and forest trees. Local dignitaries, government officials, and community leaders have been invited to participate in the program.

Through these initiatives, Southeast Bank PLC. continues to contribute to environmental protection and a greener Bangladesh.
