Panchagarh Correspondent : A day-long workshop for farmers was held in Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh under the Partner Field School Congress initiative, jointly supported by the Upazila Agriculture Office.
The event took place on Tuesday at the hall of Tentulia Model Mosque Islamic and Cultural Center, bringing together farmers, government officials and NGO representatives to discuss modern and sustainable agricultural practices.
The workshop was inaugurated by Agriculturist Subodh Chandra Roy, Additional Deputy Director (Horticulture) of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Panchagarh, who attended as the chief guest.
Special guest Agriculturist Sanchay Debnath, Senior Monitoring Officer of Partner, Dinajpur region, also addressed the programme. It was moderated by Deputy Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Md. Manjur Morshed Palash, while Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabrina Afrin delivered the welcome speech.
In his address, Subodh Chandra Roy said the “Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner)” is supporting farmers through training, technical assistance and material support, including initiatives to establish seed banks in the Dinajpur region.
He said such programmes are helping farmers produce nutritious and toxin-free crops while gradually improving their financial independence. He also thanked all stakeholders involved in implementing the Partner project for supporting farmer training through the Agriculture Department.
Officials from various government departments at the upazila level, NGO representatives and members of the Partner Field School Congress were also present at the event.
