Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, one of the leading Shari’ah-based banks in the country, organized a discussion meeting and courtyard gathering with owners of 74 agent outlets, managers of 8 link branches, outlet managers, and customers under selected areas of Chandpur and Cumilla districts. Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Aminul Islam Bhuiyan attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Vice President Mohammad Momtazul Hoque was present as the Special Guest.
The event was presided over by Kazi Md. Ilias, Manager of Hajiganj Branch. During the day-long program, agents, branch managers, and outlet owners discussed various challenges, possible solutions, deposit growth strategies, and ways to ensure modern banking services through digital channels introduced by the Bank’s Digital Banking Division, including Digital Dan Box, Bangla QR, Islamic Wallet, and i-Banking.
In his speech, Chief Guest Mohammad Aminul Islam Bhuiyan said that Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC is further strengthening its agent banking operations to deliver modern and Shari’ah-compliant banking services to people at the grassroots level. He urged agents, branch managers, and outlet managers to work in a coordinated manner to increase deposits, improve customer service, and accelerate financial inclusion activities. He also advised customers to ensure secure transactions by using fingerprint authentication at agent outlets, collecting auto-generated receipts, and verifying transactions through SMS notifications.
At the end of the program, participants expressed their commitment to working together through mutual cooperation and coordination to make agent banking activities more dynamic, bring unbanked rural populations under formal banking services, and ensure uninterrupted and quality customer service.
