Recently, with the objective of fostering a habit of savings and ensuring financial literacy among students, the “Student Banking Conference-2026” was held at the Naogaon Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium. All scheduled banks operating in the Naogaon district participated in this conference and Jamuna Bank PLC served as the lead bank. Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director of the Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event also featured Ms. Abeda Rahim, Additional Director; Ms. Tania Bhuiyan, Deputy Director of the same department; and Abdus Sobhan, Head of Banking Operations Division at Jamuna Bank, as Special Guests. The conference was presided over by Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Jamuna Bank PLC.
In his speech, the Chief Guest, Md. Iqbal Mohsin, emphasized that introducing students to modern banking services and financial management is crucial for building a self-reliant Bangladesh. In his presidential address, Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed highlighted the long-term benefits of student banking and reiterated Jamuna Bank’s commitment to bringing students under the umbrella of formal financial services. A large number of students from various educational institutions in Naogaon, teachers, and senior officials from different banks attended the conference. The event concluded with interactive sessions, quiz competitions, and the distribution of gift items among the students.
