B Mirror Report: Panchagarh Correspondent: Farmers’ Field Day and technical discussion meeting were held in Sadar Union of Tentulia Upazila of Panchagarh.
Today, Wednesday, the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department organized this field day and technical discussion meeting with the farmers and farmers of the Patan Bhiktik demonstration under the National Oil Crop Production Increase Project in the fiscal year 2025-26 in the Sahebjot area of Sadar Union.
Speaking as the chief guest at the program presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabrina Afrin, Deputy Director of Dinajpur Additional Director’s Office, Agriculturist Abul Kalam Azad said that the cultivation of oil crops (sorghum, almonds, sunflowers) should be increased. Because after cutting the Aman crop, the agricultural land remains fallow for about two months. During this time, farmers will benefit economically by cultivating short-term oil crops on the land and can meet the demand for edible oil with their own mustard. For this, a field day and technical discussion meeting have been organized. He attached special importance to the production of these crops by the farmers present.
