B Mirror Report : Nine journalists have won the BSEC Capital Market media Excellence Awards in honor of their outstanding work and professionalism in the field of capital market media. Six journalists were given special prizes, and three winners from each of the three categories were chosen.
The awards were presented by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) at a ceremony held on Thursday (January 15). BSEC Chairman Khandakar Rashed Maksud handed over cash prizes and certificates to the awardees.
Awards were given in three categories: Print, Electronic, and Online. In each category, one winner and two special awardees were selected.
In the Print category, the winner was Ahsan Habib Russell, senior reporter of the English daily The Daily Star. Special awards in this category went to Jalil Raihan Munna, senior reporter of Daily Ittefaq, and Anwar Ibrahim, senior reporter of Daily Samakal.
In the Electronic Media category, the winner was Tauhidul Islam Rana, senior reporter of Independent Television. Special awards went to Ataur Rahman, staff reporter of Ekattor TV, and Alamgir Hossain, senior reporter of Jamuna Television.
In the Online category, the winner was S.M. Nuruzzaman Tanin, senior reporter of RisingBD. Special awards went to Saeed Shipon, senior reporter of Jago News, and S.M.A. Kalam, senior reporter of Banglanews.
A six-member jury board evaluated the reports and selected the awardees. The jury included university teachers, researchers, BSEC representatives, and journalist representatives.
This prestigious award, organized by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, recognizes responsible, information-based, and investigative journalism on capital markets.
The BSEC Capital Market Journalism Excellence Awards and Fellowship have been launched for the first time by the capital market regulator. According to BSEC, the award and fellowship aim to encourage transparent, reliable, and research-based journalism on the capital market.
