The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a drop in the indexes at the end of trade on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week. The majority of companies’ share prices and the overall value of transactions declined in tandem with the indices.
The DSE Broad Index ended the day at 4,853 points, 36 points lower than the day before, according to DSE sources. The DSE-30 Index dropped 7 points to 1,869 points, while the DSE Shariah Index dropped 7 points to 1,008 points.
Out of 390 companies and mutual funds traded during the day, prices increased for 48, decreased for 299, and remained unchanged for 43.
Total turnover at the DSE amounted to Tk 375.78 crore, which is Tk 37.33 crore less than the previous trading day. On the previous day, the turnover stood at Tk 413.11 crore.
Meanwhile, at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index CASPI dropped by 76 points to 13,694 points.
At the CSE, 160 institutions participated in trading. Among them, prices rose for 41, declined for 103, and remained unchanged for 16. Total trading at the CSE amounted to Tk 5.81 crore worth of shares and units.
