The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the first trading day of the week on Sunday (23 November) with notable gains across all major Index, even as overall turnover declined compared to the previous session.
According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX rose by 46.73 points, reaching 4,915, reflecting positive investor sentiment despite subdued trading volume. The DSES index gained 9.41 points to settle at 1,027, while the blue-chip index DS30 inched up 0.48 points to close at 1,883.
Market participation, however, weakened. Total turnover stood at Tk 385.91 crore, down from Tk 445.42 crore recorded in the preceding trading day. During the session, shares of 381 companies changed hands, with 250 issues advancing, 84 declining, and 47 remaining unchanged. The mixed activity suggests that while the market showed signs of upward momentum, investors remained cautious, resulting in lower trading volume.
