DSEX Dips as Trading Value Rises Amid Broad Market Fall

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a broad-based decline on the first trading day of the week, with all major indices ending lower. The DSEX, the market’s benchmark index, fell by 6.33 points to close at 5,115, while the DSES dropped 3.64 points to 1,078 and the DS-30 slipped 4.80 points to 1,982.

Trading value slightly increased as shares and units worth BDT 5.45 billion were exchanged, compared to BDT 4.76 billion in the previous session. A total of 395 companies participated in trading, with 128 seeing price gains, 207 experiencing declines, and 60 remaining unchanged.

Market analysts attributed the downturn to profit-taking and cautious investor sentiment as the week began.
