BM Desk : The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is set to hold a meeting with the country’s leading brokerage firms as the capital market continues to remain in a prolonged negative trend. BSEC Chairman Rashed Maksud will lead the discussions to chart out measures for market improvement.
The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 PM today at the BSEC office. According to sources, commissioners, senior officials, and heads of the top 18 brokerage firms will participate.
Two main topics are expected to be discussed: strategies for capital market development and various other related matters. A CEO of a top brokerage house, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Sunbid, “BSEC has called us to discuss the overall state of the market. The chairman will be present at the meeting.”
