On the first trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, ended with a positive trend in indices. However, the total turnover in monetary terms declined compared to the previous session, according to DSE sources.
On Sunday (October 5), the DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, rose by 31.84 points, closing at 5,447 points.
The DSES (Shariah Index) gained 2.04 points to reach 1,174, while the DS30 Index advanced by 10.72 points to settle at 2,092.
Despite the index gains, total turnover dropped to Tk 619.28 crore, down from Tk 696.80 crore in the previous session.
A total of 395 company shares and units were traded on the day. Of these, prices increased for 183 companies, declined for 147, and remained unchanged for 65.
