The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has welcomed the voluntary canal and sewer cleaning campaign organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on the occasion of its 47th foundation anniversary, in lieu of the previously announced rally, in light of the capital’s traffic congestion and public suffering.
When a program is held in a densely populated city by closing the roadways, the entire city comes to a complete halt. This leads to a great deal of public suffering. Given the suffering of the populace, the BNP’s innovative and approachable initiative will surely establish a model that will be regarded as a good practice in implementing political initiatives.
It is important to highlight that a view-exchange meeting took place on August 23, organized by DMP with the central and Dhaka metropolitan leaders of 32 political parties and alliances. During the meeting, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, ndc, urged the attending politicians to conduct political activities in alternative locations to minimize public inconvenience. DMP views this innovative initiative by BNP, coinciding with its founding anniversary, as a response to that appeal.
We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to BNP for developing constructive programs that avoid congested roads, prioritizing the well-being and comfort of the city’s residents.
