Expat Groups and Rickshaw Pullers Distribute T-Shirts in Tentulia

A Based Panchagarh Correspondent: In Tentulia, Panchagarh, the expatriate volunteer organization Vin Hemisphere, funded by acting artist Vans and managed by labor organizations, has been involved in distributing T-shirts to rickshaw pullers, sometimes referred to as ‘neighbors’ by the Panthjan Sakha ‘Monogram’.

Today, Saturday (29th July), these T-shirts were handed out at the historic Tentultala intersection, the market intersection, and Dakbungalow in Tentulia Upazila around noon. The T-shirts featured the organization’s special slogan: “Dear Rider, you have arrived at your destination; you are called ‘neighbor’.”

Poet and writer MA Baset, who is the director of Ahnaf Computer Training Institute and an assistant coordinator of the organization, stated that the founder of Hemisphere, American expatriate journalist, cultural worker, and author Nasim Panchde, has been actively contributing to various social causes. This includes distributing blankets to the needy during winter and recently providing T-shirts to van drivers.

Poet and writer MS Ripon, the coordinator of the organization’s Panchagarh district branch, mentioned that this hemisphere social initiative aims to honor neglected van and rickshaw pullers by informing society of their needs and providing necessary assistance.

Adv. Monowar Hossain Hanif, president of the Tentulia Upazila Writers Council and a writer and lyricist, expressed that van and auto drivers have proven to be an integral part of society through their profession. He emphasized that they should not be referred to merely as ‘this uncle’ or ‘this rickshaw’, but rather recognized by a specific name, ‘Porshi’. Expatriate journalist Nasim initiated this effort to acknowledge the contributions of acting artists and workers, and he expressed gratitude to the hemisphere. Present at the event were Ujjal, owner of Kather Bari Guest House, senior journalist Ashraful Islam, journalists Abdur Rahim, Mobarak Hossain, Julhas, NTV Online representative Ratan, and journalists Doel and Mintu.
