BM Desk :Â In the audit of the company’s most recent 2024 financial statements, the auditor indicated that Phoenix Finance and Investment, which is listed on the stock exchange, has a deficit of 7.3 crore taka against its investments; despite this deficit, the company has lost 8.08 crore 23 lakh taka in 2024, and its net assets have gone negative by 1,360 crore 30 lakh taka. As a result of this persistently poor situation, the auditor has expressed concerns about Phoenix Finance’s ability to continue operating its business in the future.
It is important to note that Phoenix Finance, which went public on the stock exchange in 2007, has 165 crore 87 lakh taka in paid-up capital. Investors from different stock market classes own 73.99 percent of this (excluding directors and entrepreneurs). On Wednesday, July 9, the share price of the firm was Tk 3.90.
