Illegal Brick Kiln Dismantled in Environment Department Operation

Raihan, Mymensingh Correspondent : On May 29, 2025, following the initiative of the Department of Environment, the Mymensingh District Office completely demolished two illegal brick kilns, M/s Riyad Bricks and M/s Bhai Bhai Bricks, situated in the Dewaniyapara area of Trishal Upazila in Mymensingh district. This action was taken due to violations of the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013 (Amended 2019). The fire in the brick kiln was extinguished with assistance from the fire service. Additionally, the electricity supply to both brick kilns was cut off with the help of the Trishal Power Development Board. During this operation, a fine of two lakh taka was imposed and collected from the owner of M/s Bhai Bhai Bricks. The operation was led by Mr. Kishore Kumar Das, Executive Magistrate of the Department of Environment, Headquarters, with Mr. Mahbubul Islam, Inspector of the Department of Environment, Mymensingh District Office, handling the prosecution. Mr. Maj-Babul Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, Mymensingh District Office, was also present to provide overall support. The operation was conducted with the assistance of a team comprising members of the Bangladesh Army, Mymensingh District Police, and Trishal Fire Service. Such operations will continue in the interest of the public.
