Md. Nazrul Islam, Rajbari District : Shanto Roy (22), the main accused in the Rajbari school girl abduction case, was arrested from Magura by members of RAB-10 and 6 camps. The arrested Shanto Roy is the son of Bharat Roy of Kalagachi village of Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur district. The 10th class girl kidnapped in the operation was rescued.

RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) and Assistant Superintendent of Police Shamim Hasan Sardar informed this information in a press release sent on Sunday (April 20) morning.

He said that on March 11, around 8:30 in the morning, Shanto Roy and his accomplices forcibly took the schoolgirl from Sultanpur area of Rajbari Sadar Upazila while she was going to private school. Later, the mother of the abducted schoolgirl filed a case under the Prevention of Women and Child Torture Act at Rajbari Sadar Police Station on April 2. As part of the investigation of the case, when the cooperation of BAB-10 was requested, the agency increased intelligence surveillance. In continuation of this, on Saturday (April 19) at 2:30 in the afternoon, BAB-10 and RAB-6 raided the bus terminal area of Magura Sadar Upazila and arrested the accused Shanto Roy and rescued the abducted schoolgirl based on his information.

The accused Shanto Roy was handed over to Rajbari police station on Saturday night, RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) and Assistant Superintendent of Police Shamim Hasan Sardar said.
