B Mirror Desk : In a devastating incident, a fire ravaged 15 shops in Shayestaganj, Habiganj, within a single hour, resulting in damages amounting to crores of taka. The blaze erupted around 3 am yesterday, but fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
According to Ariful Islam, Officer of the Shayestaganj Fire Service Station, the fire ignited in the market owned by American expatriate Meraj Mia, located in Sutang Uttar Bazar in the Shahjibazar area. It quickly spread to adjacent shops, destroying a variety of establishments, including a rice warehouse, a coating-mattress shop, a pharmacy, a chicken farm, a grocery store, a tea shop, a library, a furniture store, a restaurant, and a fertilizer dealer.
Upon receiving the alert, two units from the Shayestaganj Fire.
Service promptly arrived at the scene and managed to control the fire. The incident caused significant alarm among the local traders.
