The leadership of the Awami League, a fugitive party, has left the nation. According to Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the interim government’s top advisor, they are currently making every effort to destabilize the nation.
During an interview with BBC Bangla, Dr. Yunus said this. The interview was released by the news organization on Monday, March 3.
The head of the interim government commented, “I had no idea that I would suddenly become the head of a government when the government was formed,” in reference to the Awami League’s role in destroying the nation. That nation, a nation in which everything is destroyed. Now nothing functions correctly. We must make our way through the existing ruins.
So my first attempt was to bring out the real face from that ruin. To make people’s daily lives easier. I was in that effort. Then slowly think about what the future will be – in which direction we will move.”
The first thought came to us that we need a reform. Because the reason for all these incidents, the fascist government has been able to function. It has been able to function for 16 years, we have not been able to do anything. Three elections have been held, no voters have been seen. How can we pull out this innumerable corruption and failure, Misrul? If we are going to pull it out, we have to do institutional reforms.
Dr. Yunus said, the ruins from which we came are emerging with a new face. It is emerging, we have simplified the economy. We have gained the trust of the country and abroad. It is clear – we have been able to establish trust all over the world. No one can question that I have not been able to gain the trust of such and such a country. Whichever country you ask, they have placed their trust in us. Not only have they placed their trust in us, they have done it enormously. They are saying that we will do more now than we have done in the past, since we see that the government is running well now. That is why they are saying that. So this is a big proof. Whenever you look at the rows of countries – every country has come and said that we support you. We will give you what you need. They have provided incredible support.
Regarding the students forming a political party, he said, whoever wants to do politics has resigned himself. There were three student representatives in the government. Whoever has decided to do politics has resigned from the government. He will do politics as a private citizen, who is there to stop him?.
Is the Awami League going to be prohibited? We are all citizens of this nation, he added in response to the query. We all have the same rights in this nation. We must reside in this nation. We must make this nation great. Therefore, we will act in accordance with the opinions of whichever party holds them. No one’s rights can be taken away from this nation. However, whoever should be tried and who has done wrong must be tried.
