BMBA seeks everyone’s cooperation in establishing dynamic and vibrant capital market

Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) President Majeda Khatun has sought everyone’s cooperation in establishing a dynamic and vibrant capital market.

The 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BMBA was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Tuesday (February 25). She expressed her expectation of everyone’s cooperation in it.

BMBA President Majeda Khatun presided over the meeting. In addition, First Vice President Md. Riyad Matin, Second Vice President Mohammad Obaidur Rahman, Secretary General Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Iftekhar Alam, along with members of the executive committee and general members were present in the meeting.

The meeting began with recitation from the Holy Quran. The annual report and audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2024 were presented to the members present in the meeting.

Treasurer Iftekhar Alam gave a brief discussion on the financial statements and after the discussion, answered various questions of the members on the financial statements. Later, the annual report and audited financial statements presented were unanimously accepted and approved. BMBA Secretary General Muhammad Nazrul Islam presented detailed information on the activities and achievements of 2024.

In addition, the future work plan of the association was discussed and the active participation and cooperation of the members was called for. An open discussion was held on the current situation of the capital market in the meeting, where the members expressed their opinions.

At the meeting, the organization’s president Majeda Khatun said that BMBA will have to work in close partnership with all stakeholders for the interests and protection of the capital market. At the end of the meeting, BMBA leaders expressed their expectation for the cooperation of all members and stakeholders to establish a dynamic and vibrant capital market and declared the meeting closed.
