Ekushey Book Fair will start on Saturday

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair is starting from February 1. The main theme of the fair is the July Mass Uprising: Building a New Bangladesh. The book fair will be officially inaugurated at 3 pm on that day by the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

On Thursday (January 30), the Academy’s Director General, Professor Mohammad Azam, made these remarks at a press conference organized at the Bangla Academy on the occasion of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025.

He said that the book fair will be inaugurated at 3 pm on Saturday, February 1 by the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus. Books and book fairs are helpful in building a knowledge-based, humane and inclusive democratic Bangladesh. We hope that this year’s fair – the Book Fair of Our Lives – will illuminate all possibilities.

Dr. Sarkar Amin, member secretary of the fair’s management committee, said about the fair that it will be open from 3 pm to 9 pm every day from February 1 to February 28, except holidays. No new entry will be allowed into the fair premises after 8:30 pm. On holidays, the book fair will run from 11 am to 9 pm (except February 8 and February 15).

In addition, on February 21, the Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, the fair will start at 8 am and continue until 9 pm.
