Like the previous day, on Monday (January 27) too, both the stock markets of the country ended the trading with falling prices. However, the volume of transactions has increased. Today, the share price of most companies has decreased.
On this day, the main index of the country’s main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell by 2 points to 5130 points. Which had fallen by 34 points the previous day.
Shares and units worth Tk 344.4 crore were traded on the DSE on Monday. The amount was Tk 418.46 crore the previous day. Accordingly, the transactions increased by Tk 255.8 crore or 8 percent.
Out of the 399 companies traded on the DSE today, the share and unit prices of 140 companies increased by 35.08 percent. And the prices of 178 companies or 44.61 percent decreased and the prices of 81 companies or 20.30 percent remained unchanged.
On the other hand, shares and units worth Tk 322.2 crore were traded on the CSE on Monday. Of the 189 companies traded on the CSE today, 65 increased their share and unit prices, 104 decreased their share prices and 20 remained unchanged. The overall CSE index CASPI fell by 23 points to 14,360 points.
Shares and units worth 128.9 million taka were traded on the CSE the previous day. The CASPI index fell by 66 points.
