Bangladesh Embassy in Poland celebrates Great Victory Day-2024 at the embassy premises with due dignity. At the beginning of the program, in the presence of all the officers and employees of the Embassy, the Minister of the Embassy and Charge the Affairs Mr. Kazi Muntasir Murshed inaugurated the activities of the day by hoisting the national flag.
The second part of the program begins with readings from the holy scriptures. Expatriate Bangladeshis living in Poland and eminent personalities of Poland participated in the event. Addresses by Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Chief Adviser and Hon’ble Foreign Adviser were read out on the occasion of Great Victory Day. On the occasion of Victory Day, all the guests present sub-divided the documents sent by the Ministry through Aadhaar. Later, a discussion session was held on the significance of Victory Day. The speakers remembered with deep respect the sacrifices of the brave freedom fighters and two lakh mothers and sisters of the Great War of Liberation and mentioned their commitment to the country despite staying abroad.
Embassy Minister and Charge the Affairs Mr. Kazi Muntasir Murshed called upon the greatness of Victory Day and the importance of the day to the future generations and take lessons from it to lead the way in the future, especially expatriate Bangladeshis to impart the necessary education to their children about the native culture. Moreover, he requested the diaspora to cooperate with the interim government formed by the mass uprising of students and workers. He also specifically requested remittances through legitimate channels to strengthen the country’s economy.
On the occasion of the Great Victory Day, the Plasko Dabrowskiego Bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw, in collaboration with the Embassy Warsaw City Corporation and the Department of City and Road Authority, was illuminated with the national flag of Bangladesh on 16 December 2024 from 07:00 pm to 12:00 pm. Minister and Charge the Affairs requested all present to visit the bridge after prayer and entertainment.
At the end of the discussion, a minute of silence was observed and a special prayer was held for the souls of the martyred freedom fighters, the wounded freedom fighters and all the members who participated in the liberation war. In the last part of the program, the ceremony of the day ended by serving the guests a dinner consisting of local dishes.
