This week, the stock market of the country has been traded through the ups and downs of the index. In this, the market capitalization of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main capital market of the country, increased by Tk. 2 thousand 869 crores within a week. This information is known from the weekly updated report of the capital market.
According to sources, on the last working day of this week, the market capitalization of DSE stood at Tk. 6 lakh 74 thousand 678 crore. On the last working day of the previous week, this capital was 6 lakh 71 thousand 809 crores. The market capitalization of DSE has increased by 43 percent or 2 thousand 869 crores in a week.
Meanwhile, all DSE indices have increased this week. The main index DSEX rose by 39 points or 73.73 percent. Besides, the DSE-30 index increased by 20.87 points or 1.06 percent. And the DSES index increased by 1.61 points or 14.0 percent.
However, despite the rise in the index, the volume of transactions on the DSE fell. During the week, the total transaction in DSE was 2 thousand 770 crores 10 lakhs. In the previous week, the total transaction was Tk. 3 thousand 29 crore 6 lakh. In one week, the transaction has decreased by Tk. 258 crore 96 lakh.
Meanwhile, an average of Tk. 554.2 lakh was traded on DSE every working day this week. In the previous week, the average daily transaction was Tk. 605 crore 81 lakh. The average transaction per working day has decreased by 51 crore 79 lakh taka or 8.55 percent.
Shares of 384 companies and mutual fund units were traded on DSE during the week. Among them, the share prices of 148 companies increased, 205 companies decreased and 31 companies remained unchanged.
