Inauguration of Pilot KMS at LGED

BMirror Desk: Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC) established under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has launched its own Pilot Knowledge Management System (KMS). LGED Chief Engineer Md. Ali Akhtar Hossain formally inaugurated the pilot Knowledge Management System (KMS) on Thursday morning, 3rd October 2024. LGED Engineers of every department, region, district and upazila level were connected online.
In his opening speech, the Chief Engineer of LGED emphasized that the launch of the pilot Knowledge Management System (KMS) is a milestone for CReLIC and LGED which will facilitate the LGED engineers to become more confident having access to better curated and relevant knowledge. Furthermore, in the future, specialized training will be provided through CReLIC to enhance the knowledge and skills of LGED engineers on climate issues.
The KMS is designed with timely features keeping in mind climate related learning, research and professional development. National climate related policies, plans, climate data and information, LGED and CReLIC guidelines, manuals, Climate Resilient Tool (CRT) including video documentaries, images and publications of various recent events are shared with the KMS and will be regularly updated. Using the KMS, the LGED engineers will have the opportunity to browse all the available information and download as required from anywhere and any device.
LGED Additional Chief Engineers Gopal Krishna Debnath, Shaikh Muzakka Zaher, K.M Zulfeker Ali, Md. Abdur Rashid Miah, Md. Anowar Hossain and CReLIC Director Md. Abdul Hakim and CRIM Project Director Md. Abdul Khaleque were present during the inauguration. In addition, KfW Portfolio Coordinator Sk. Towhidur Rahaman, IDC-CReLIC Team Leader Dr. Daan Boom and Senior officials of LGED were virtually connected in the event.
