Bangladesh Bank lifted the cash withdrawal limit from Sunday (08 September). This information was informed in a notification on Saturday (September 7).
According to the notification, there will be no obligation to withdraw money from the bank account from Sunday (September 8). Anyone can withdraw any amount from their account.
Earlier last week there was a maximum withdrawal opportunity of five lakhs. In the previous weeks, the Central Bank had given the opportunity to withdraw a maximum of four lakhs, three lakhs and two lakhs respectively. That is, the cash withdrawal limit is slightly increased every week.
Incidentally, after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 in the face of the students’ movement, limits were imposed on the withdrawal of money from banks for the sake of security. After the formation of the interim government came regulatory measures in banking transactions. From that day, the bank was instructed not to withdraw more than one lakh rupees through cheque. Later it was increased to five lakh taka.
