Dhaka to Set Up 22 Cattle Markets for Eid-ul-Adha

Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the two city corporations of Dhaka are planning to set up a total of 22 cattle markets, including two permanent ones. The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will host nine temporary markets along with the permanent market at Gabtoli. Meanwhile, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will establish 11 temporary markets and a permanent market at Sarulia.

Mohammad Mahe Alam, Chief Property Officer of DNCC, mentioned that initial notices for leasing these markets have already been issued. The authorities retain the flexibility to increase or decrease the number of markets as necessary. Additionally, they are encouraging online transactions for buying and selling sacrificial animals.

Mizanur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of DSCC, confirmed that notices have been issued to lease 11 temporary markets.

The 11 temporary markets in the DSCC area include: The vacant area adjacent to Donia College Field, The open space near Sadek Hossain Khoka Field, beside the Dholaikhal Truck Terminal, The vacant area of Amulia Model Town, The empty space near the Maithree Club Ground in North Shahjahanpur, The vacant area surrounding Rahmatganj Playfield, Shyampur Kadamtali Truck Stand, The open space near Hazaribagh Leather Technology College, The area adjacent to Postogola Crematorium, The vacant space near Meradia Bazaar, The area around Kamalapur Stadium, The vicinity of the Little Friends Club area at Bishwaroad.

In the DNCC area, the nine temporary markets will be set up at:

The vacant area near Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, The vacant land in Rahman Nagar Residential Area, Ward 44, Kanchukura Beparipara, The Mastul Checkpost area in Ward 43, Khilkhet, The area adjacent to Sutivola Canal in Bhatara, The Boubazar area in Sectors 16 and 18 of Uttara, The Eastern Housing area of Section 6, Mirpur, The open space along the 40-foot road in Basila, Mohammadpur.

These markets aim to facilitate the smooth buying and selling of sacrificial animals for Eid-ul-Adha while encouraging safety and convenience through online transactions.
