Adani Group Eyes Solar Power Market Expansion in Bangladesh

The Indian conglomerate Adani Group expresses interest in expanding its electricity sales in Bangladesh, particularly focusing on solar power. Invited by the group’s Managing Director for Agribusiness, Oil, and Gas Operations, Pranav Vinod Adani, Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali is set to visit Adani’s solar power centers in Dhaka. During a meeting with a delegation of five members led by Adani, the Finance Minister agreed to visit the solar facilities at his convenience, as confirmed by the Ministry of Finance.

Present at the meeting were high-ranking officials from the Adani Group, including Anil Saradana, S. B. Khilwani, Bipul Yadav, and Abhishek Tiwari. From Bangladesh, Finance Secretary Mohammad Khairuzzaman Majumdar, along with other senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, attended the discussion.

Post-meeting, Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali informed journalists, “Adani has already made significant investments in Bangladesh and intends to do more. We welcome their investments.” Similarly, Pranav Vinod Adani highlighted the immense opportunities in Bangladesh, expressing eagerness to discuss investment prospects with the Finance Minister.
