Habibur Rahman Molla, a four-time elected member of parliament and freedom fighter, was recently honored at a prayer ceremony held on the fourth anniversary of his death in Dhaka.
Alhaj Moshiur Rahman Molla Sajal, Member of Parliament for Dhaka’s 5th constituency and General Secretary of Demra Thana Awami League, served as the chief guest. Iqbal Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Wari Division, DMP, Dhaka, delivered the main speech.
Councilors, including Alhaj Masudur Rahman Molla Babul (Ward 64), Alhaj Mostak Ahmed (Ward 62), Alhaj Masum Mollah (Ward 50), and Haji Salauddin Ahmed (Ward 69), all from Dhaka South City Corporation, were present. Mahfuza Akter Himel, Reserved Councilor for Wards 67, 68, and 69, and Md. Zahirul Islam, Officer In-charge of Demra Police Station, also attended.
The ceremony was presided over by Alhaj Shahidul Islam, a former chairman of Sarulia Union Parishad. Others in attendance included Zainal Hazari, former vice president of Sarulia Union; Awami League leaders Moazzem Hossain, Azmat Ali, and Tariqul Rahman Khan Sumon; Headmaster Aftab Uddin Chowdhury of Haji Moazzem Ali Adarsh High School; Jasimuddin Majumdar of Saruliya Union Parishad; and Jubo League leader Russell Bhuiyan.
