Youth-led organizations announce national-level alliance

Md Jahirul Islam: A day-long workshop has been held to create a national-level alliance of youth-led organizations across the country. At the initiative of the non-governmental organization Paritran, at the Golden Inn in Dhaka Hotel on Thursday, an announcement was made to create a national youth organization network from this workshop under the ‘Y Moves project’ funded by the donor partner Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency-SIDA and in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh.
The workshop, chaired by Paritran Executive Director Milan Das, featured youth organizers highlighting the activities of their respective organizations. The current situation in Bangladesh was discussed in detail under the party work titled Problems in the current society and what to do to solve them.
In the discussion, more than fifty representatives from about 23 youth organizations discussed prevention of violence against women and children, sexual and reproductive health rights, SGBV, CVS space, gender diversity, LGBTIQ, national-level policy dialogue, and the need to create a national unity with the conviction to make all state policies youth-friendly.
According to the need, the organizers presented five names for the nomination and signed the MOU.
Moderated by Ujjwal Kumar Das, Project Coordinator of the Paritran Sangstha, the event was attended by Zahir Raihan, Executive Director of the ASYM Youth Organization Youth for Change, Shoaib Hasnat Sarjil, Climate Resilience Coordinator, Fahmida Haque Nishi, Executive Director of YES BD, Anika Bushra, Treasurer, Harzina Zahura, SHHR Technical Specialist of Plan International Bangladesh’s YMoves Project, Paritran Sangstha officials Nayan Kumar Gain, Alauddin Sardar and Mallika, and other concerned persons.
