While diplomats and heads of international organizations in person hail the 23rd anniversary of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh, it’s founder has renewed her promise to move for easy credits and ease of doing business for the women entrepreneurs.
Women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh still face hurdles in getting capital loans from banks, face harassment by revenue officials and they even don’t get proper training, Nasrin Awal Mintoo, president of the WEAB, said.
“We will continue our drive in supporting women entrepreneurs across the country,” she said.
Speaking at WEAB foundation ceremony, held at the Diplomatic Enclave Club at Baridhara in the city, Norwegian ambassador Espen Rikter-Svendsen and UN Women Country Head Geetanjali Shingha praised of spirits of Bangladeshi businesswomen. They noted activities of WEAB in this regard.
The ceremony was attended by some of WEAB founding members and current EC members and prominent professionals and guests.
