M A Mannan, Bhola: A bi-annual conference of Bangladesh Labour Welfare Federation was held at Daulatkhan in Bhola. The conference was held on Monday at the conference room of the Islamic library of the upazila.
Md. Ashraf Uddin Farooq, chairman of the Upazila Labour Welfare Federation, presided over the function where an executive committee was formed for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Ismail Hossain Monir, the president of the District Workers’ Welfare Federation, spoke at the function as a chief guest. Besides, Treasurer of the District Labour Welfare Federation AZM Jahangir Alam, Chief Adviser of Upazila labour welfare Federation Md Hasan Tarek Howlader, President of Sramik Kalyan Federation Md. Ashraf Uddin, Lecturer Prof Golam Mawla and others also spoke at the function.
In the speech, the chief guest, Ismail Hossain Monir said, to get the rights of the workers, their remuneration should be explained before the sweat of their skin dries. The workers should also be given the same food that we eat. Only Islam can establish a state with fair justice and fair rights in this country.
He also said that without the implementation of Islamic labor policy, the fate of poor and starving people will not change. Therefore, Islamic labour policy must be established. In this principle, there is no labour-owner conflict, no slavery. The role of working people in our country’s freedom war and anti-dictatorship movement is immense.
He further added that the Conference of Labour Welfare Federation is an event which we organized to address issues related to the welfare, rights, and protection of workers. It will bring together various stakeholders including government representatives, trade unions, labor welfare officers, and other social welfare organizations to discuss matters such as labour laws, working conditions, health and safety at work places, wages, and overall well-being of workers.
