Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Gabriel Cistiga Fob, met with the Minister of State for Disaster Management and Relief, Mohibbur Rahman, at his secretariat office on Wednesday. During the meeting, they discussed Spain’s assistance in dealing with lightning strikes in Bangladesh.
Mohibbur Rahman called for cooperation in disaster management in Bangladesh and additional support from Spain for the Rohingya population.
The State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief said that Spain’s technical assistance would enrich Bangladesh’s experience in lightning control.
The Ambassador of Spain expressed his interest in providing lightning protection technology and experience to Bangladesh.
The ambassador also said that Spain will play an active role in various international forums to advocate for the return of the forcibly expelled Rohingya people from Myanmar to their own country.
