Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy and the ambassador of Japan, Ito Naoki have pointed out that Bangladesh Japan relation is now going on a very glorifying age in the history. They both have also observed that many scopes are still unexplored in bilateral relations. They put such observations at a ceremony held in the city on Sunday.
At the ceremony, ambassador of Japan and the representative from Naruto City of Japan handed over a significant quantity of health-safety and corona-protection items to the Narayanganj City Corporation mayor.
Naruto City authority has arranged three thousand one hundred and twenty pieces of face-shields, twenty thousand pieces of disposable nitrile gloves, one thousand packets of powder-soft-drink, ten thousand five hundred and twenty-nine pieces of knitted face-masks for the people of Narayanganj.
Earlier, Naruto City of Japan and Narayanganj City Corporation of Bangladesh tied friendship by a formal agreement, at the end of January this year. This friendship City Agreement was initiated by Kiminobu Hiraishi, chairman of the Marushisa Group of Japan. The Japanese business group, engaged in textile business and operates Marushisa Pacific Company, a garment production unit, at Adamjee EPZ, in Narayanganj.
Anwar Shahid, managing director of MAS Consultants, presided over ceremony. Sagawa Koji, representative of the mayor of Naruto City and S.M. Rahman, a senior business leader and managing director of Novo Group also spoke there.
Mohammad Hatem and Fazle Ehsan Shamim, leaders of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association-BKMEA, Abul Amin, CEO of the Narayanganj City Corporation, officials from Japanese business houses in Bangladesh and officials from Bangladesh’s ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of LGED also attended the ceremony.
