HSBC Bangladesh has launched its annual Business Excellence Award program for the third time to recognize the significant contribution of Bangladeshi business organizations and entrepreneurs to economic growth.
“HSBC is proud to recognize all those entrepreneurs and organizations that have contributed tremendously to economic growth, meeting internal needs, or infrastructural development projects,” Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh, said at a press conference at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday.
“Through the Business Excellence Award, we want to highlight the achievements of the best entrepreneurs and organizations, whose achievements are shining Bangladesh across the world today,” said Gerard Kevin Haughey, HSBC Country Head of Wholesale Banking.
Talukdar Noman Anwar, country head for communications at HSBC Bangladesh, presented the rules and regulations of the program at the launch conference.
The HSBC Business Excellence Awards will be given in eight categories. Three awards will be given in the export sector. Firms with annual export revenue of USD 50 million and above in the apparel industry and supply chain and backward linkages with annual export revenue of USD 10 million and above and in non-traditional and emerging sectors with annual export revenue of USD 3 million and above can be nominated.
Companies contributing USD 10 million or more to import substitution industries, companies contributing to inward investment and infrastructure development, companies making effective and ground-breaking contributions to society through sustainability initiatives or projects, and companies creating new technologies that have a positive impact on public life and also contribute to the country’s economy are eligible to participate. The Ministry of Commerce and the British High Commission in Dhaka will be partners in this award program.
