DU Correspondent: The High Court has dismissed a writ petition seeking the opportunity to take the Dhaka University admission test for the second time. The petition was primarily filed challenging the notification issued stating that no students would be allowed to take the admission test for the second time at Dhaka University. A bench led by Justice Fatema Najib dismissed it on November 25.
The petitioners, who had missed the admission test for the first time , challenged DU’s policy of not allowing the second attempt. The court expressed concern over the repeated nature of such petitions . As a result, no students will be granted the second opportunity to sit for the DU admission exam.
Dhaka University decided that students would not be permitted to sit for the admission test for the second time in 2014. A petition was filed challenging this decision at that time, but the High Court dismissed it. When the case was later taken to the Appellate Division, it too was rejected.
