The Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) has donated BDT two and a half million for accelerating education research at the country’s oldest university.

This contribution of DUAA will be part of ‘The Dhaka University Fund’ that was formed by Dhaka University for the development of the education research sector of the university.

A group of members of the DUAA executive committee, led by its president, Anwar Ul Alam Chowdhury Parvez, handed over a cheque for taka twenty-five lacs to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman, at a simple function held at his office recently.

The VC said the commencement of their research fundraising programme through DUAA’s donation was laudable. He noted that DUAA in recent times has taken part in many inspiring social development programmes like “students’ stipends for social awareness activities” and “students’ mental health awareness workshops.”

The DUAA president said his organisation would take on more programmes to support students and the real development of society.

“The elites and leaders in different professions in society should support students empathetically and sponsor activities for the sustainable development of society,’ he added.
